Roblox

Roblox has been a part of my life for over half of it. I made my account on 5/3/2009, when I was 7, and I've been on and off the site since then. I have seen a lot.

My first memory on my account was me buying a shirt and pants for 1 tix each, going into Heli-Wars: Desert Attack, and standing in the middle of the map thinking about how cool I looked. I didn't have any hats until I convinced my family to get my buildersclub (which would make the BC helmet my first) because I kept spending my tix on stupid mspaint clothing.

The variety of games I played on the site diminished with the years. The front page became more stagnant overtime and my standards rose, so I was a lot less likely to play random obbys or cart ride into X. I still remember a lot of games fondly. I really liked games that let you play as different elements, go to space, or build. Elemental War, Space Explorers (which I remember talking to the creator of in a recreation of the first level of Duke Nukem once), various games where you build a base or boat, etc. There was also this one game I remember really liking where you made a base in a cave you dug out, but I could not find it when trying to look.

Recreation

There are a lot of old roblox things I don't get seen talked about. I remember Fear being a big thing on the platform for a while, which I think was a war group? I'm pretty sure they're the origin of the Area 51 place (tangent, but I'm old enough to remember when the elevator and tram thing worked). A lot of obbies used to be "Who killed" X, where they had a very loose plot, usually only at the start and end, of you going through the obby to figure out who the killer was. The killer was usually a random guy with no name, but some were more creative.

I still like modern Roblox. It, of course, has it's many, many issues (David needs to be removed), but it still feels like a home to me. Right now, it's a very silent and somewhat hostile home, but I can still atleast exist in it alone peacefully for now.
